OUR HISTORY
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to deliver the most progressive, authentic and meaningful platform to first line responders across Australia. Regardless of whether you’re paid, or a volunteer, our support for you does no waiver.
Our primary focus is on partnering with the best companies and delivering incredible services and benefits to: police | fire | paramedics | nurses & SES crews.
Our goal is very clear: YOU SERVE so WE APPRECIATE.
Our Team
Dean Logan - CEO / Founder
First Line Responders Australia (FLRA) CEO Dean Logan is the founder of the organisation. Dean is a carpenter by trade and joined the army in 1998 and again in 2008. His partner is currently a serving Detective. He has supported veterans for over 20 years and coached / mentored numerous first line responders.
FLRA morphed out of a 20 year career as a senior policy analyst and change management specialist where a passion for emergency service personnel and the desire to provide them with a progressive platform arose.
Dean has been the CEO of some of the most complex companies both here in Australia and in New Zealand. As a CEO in NZ he had six divisions: one division was delivering $50M worth of projects a day; the other a $600M annual portfolio for the NZ Government, whilst another; was managing the emergency services contract for education infrastructure for the entire South Island of NZ. This was particularly challenging post the Christchurch earthquake and the Kaikoura earthquake in 2016.
Dean has had a extensive 20 senior AFL coaching career and holds numerous Board and advisory roles. Today he takes all that knowledge, experience and renewed vibrancy to deliver an unparalleled offering to hard working first line responders.
Emma Simpson - Head National Membership
Emma is in charge of all memberships across Australia. She joined the police force at the age of 19 and worked for 25 years across all relevant divisions. She is a current sworn police officer and spent the last 10 years as a detective. She also spent a number of years at the police academy training recruits, transitional cadets and existing police officers looking to go through detective training. Emma is on leave from the police force and works part-time with us. Her goal is to work with FLRA part-time until she completes her university degree.
Samantha Chambers
Samantha heads up our executive coaching and mentoring program ASPIRE and is married to ex-Australian Wallaby Adrian (Moose) Skeggs.
Sam is a qualified coach and member of the International Coach Federation and Professional Speakers Australia. She has an accreditation in human behaviour, specialising in strength identification and insights. Sam is a published author and Chartered Accountant (yes, that’s where it all began)! She also writes and speaks on career change, career success, and the future of work.
Her passion is to support and guide mid-career women who have lost their spark at work to transition into purposeful, fulfilling careers they’re excited to wake up to. Sam has an incredible pedigree working with some of Australia’s leading brands like Qantas
